The Real Madrid player was sent off after bringing down Morata who was on a goal bound one on one against Courtois.

Valverde himself spoke about his tackle.

According to information obtained, Valverde stated after the game: “I apologise to Alvaro Morata. I know it’s not good what I did but I didn’t have any other option. My companions congratulated me when I left the field. I’m going to be a dad. I’ve got some really nice things going on and you have to enjoy them.”
