- A Peoples Democratic Party chieftain, Chief Femi Fani-Kayode has thrown his weight behind the ban on keke and okada in some parts of Lagos state
- The Lagos state government restricted the commercial operation of keke (tricycle) and okada (motorcycle) in local government areas like Ikeja, Lagos Mainland, Apapa, among others
Some residents of Lagos criticised the outright ban on keke and okada in the stated local government areas.
Former minister of aviation, Fani-Kayode thinks otherwise as he made it known that Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos state did well by the ban.
“Lagos had been encircled, infiltrated and occupied by violent mercenaries from Niger and Chad all claiming to be Okada riders. If they rose up against the indigenous population in the name of jihad or ethnic cleansing it would have been hell. Sanwo-Olu did well by banning them.” Fani-Kayode tweeted on his personal handle.
