Nigeria will play with Algeria at the Semi final stage of the African Cup of Nations (AFCON) 2019 some hours time. The match is a must win for both teams as neither of the two countries will want to play for third place.

Winning any tournament, especially the African Nations Cup is no mince meat. The victory the Super Eagles got at the death of time against Bafana Bafana was as a result of team spirit, coordination and dedication. The same should not die down when they play Algeria today.

The Desert Foxes have not lost a single match going into today’s semi finals. They have only conceded a single goal which was against Ivory Coast at the quarter finals.

Some may argue that the Super Eagles have a slight advantage over Algeria, because the Desert Foxes qualified for Semi Finals after a draining 120 minutes quarter finals and penalties, however, football goes beyond that.

The Nigerian team should not feel as if they can stroll over Algeria, because the latter is a tactically disciplined team.

Only total commitment and playing for one another will give the Super Eagles a victory over the Desert Foxes.
