The Sultan of Sokoto, His Eminence, Alhaji Sa’ad Abubakar III, on Monday, December 18, speaks on the things that bring about crisis in the country.
The Sultan revealed this in Sokoto, while turbaning the state Commissioner for Finance, Alhaji Sa’idu Umar, as the new ‘Ubandoman’ Sokoto.
According to Daily Post, Alhaji Sa’ad Abubakar III stated that inadequate education and little or no orientation were germane reasons responsible for the countless number of crises presently bedeviling the nation.
“If there was education and proper orientation, all these would not have been happening especially at a time when the country is making efforts to secure its rightful place in the development process of its economy and citizens.
“This title is not a mere or conventional title but one with religious responsibilities of leadership to foster the teachings and practice in Islam as well the revered institution of the caliphate.
“We have to stick to and maintain the track records and legacies bequeath us for over 200 years,” said Abubakar.
The first class king, however, advised the new Ubandoma to see his position as a reflection of leadership responsibility not rulership.
