Russia Won’t Be Pulled Into New Arms Race With United States – Putin Says

Russian President Vladimir Putin made it known on Thursday, December 14, that his country would pay right attention to the development of its army and navy, but it would not be dragged into a new arms race with the United States.

The Russian leader, speaking at a year-end news conference, also said that Russia would not back out of its commitment to concluding a START III Strategic Arms Reduction Treaty with the United States, despite what he said was Washington’s wavering on arms control treaties. Reuters reports.

It however sees Putin and President Donald Trump are getting along than previous United States presidents.

Time will tell to see what the United States’ reaction would be like after this Putin’s statement.
